Booking your first facial can feel a little intimidating if you’ve never done it before. You might wonder what you’ll be asked, whether your skin is “bad enough” to need help, or whether you’ll leave looking red and splotchy. We want to put all of that to rest before you even walk through the door.

Before you arrive

When you book, we’ll ask a few quick questions to help us prepare: what’s been going on with your skin lately, whether you’re using any active ingredients like retinol or on any medications like Accutane, and what you’re hoping to get out of your visit. This isn’t a quiz. It just helps us make sure your treatment is right for you from the moment you sit down.

Come with a clean face if you can, though it’s not a dealbreaker if you can’t. Skip heavy makeup if possible. That’s really all the prep you need.

When you arrive
Plan to arrive a few minutes early, especially for your first visit. That extra time gives us a chance to get acquainted and gives you a chance to settle in before we get started.

We’ll walk through your skin together: what you’re seeing, what’s bothering you, what you’d love to change. Whether you’re dealing with something specific like acne or hyperpigmentation, or you just want your skin to feel better than it does, we’ll listen before we do anything.

During your treatment

Mont-Ro facials are therapeutic, not just relaxing (though they are that too). Your treatment will be customized to your skin on that day, and typically includes deep cleansing, extractions if needed, a face, neck, and shoulder massage, a finishing mask selected for your skin type, and a hand and arm massage to close. You won’t leave red. You won’t leave puffy. Most clients leave glowing.

One thing worth knowing: results are cumulative. The more consistently you come in, the more your skin learns to take care of itself between visits. Your first facial is the beginning of something, not a one-time fix.

• Please let us know about any active skin conditions, medications, or recent treatments when you book. This helps us keep your skin safe and your results strong.
